So Madison hasn't been getting any better this weekend, in fact she started to get worse. Finally on Monday morning we took her to the doctor and it turns out she has the Influenza flu. (Thats the one you get the shot for.) So here goes the -I'm a crappy mom for not getting my kid the shot- speech. I had never in my life got a shot for influenza, in fact I didn't even know it existed until I met Chris. His mom faithfully got the shot for the entire family and insisted that I should get one too. I thought it was bogus, and didn't get one the first two years. Then after I had Madison, she convinced me to get it. I did and was so sick that year, I thought it was a plot out to get me. So this year Chris got one at work, but I failed to get one and didn't even think about Madison. Bad mom, right! Well sure enough she gets influenza and I feel horrible!! Needless to say next year Madison will be first in line to get the shot, and yes, I will get one too.

You are NOT a bad mom! I've heard from several "experts" that the shot really doesn't work---but then everyone is different. Grandpa and I both got shots this year and we had heavy colds right afterwards. I had a friend who was sick for a month after she got the shot and says that she will never get one again. I guess we just have to trust the doctor's advise. I hope Maddie will be feeling better soon. It's so hard to see the little ones miserable.

Linds oh my... you are far from a bad Momma!! First I must say that I believe the flu shot to be a hoax, just the same as insect repellent... it's all a plot to make us spend money. I am sorry she is so sick! I hope that she is able to get better soon and be that sweet little girl again! Hope you are doing good and don't catch it as well. And I LOVE you are blogging so much. So fun!
