A tribute to a great man!!!

Tonight is a sad yet happy time for all. With the passing of the dear prophet, our hearts are heavy. He was such a sweet man full of charisma and love. I have grown so close to him as he has been in office serving the Lord, since he is one of the only prophets I remember. So many good things have come in his service, and I believe that the Lord was with him every step of the way. Where would we be in life and in the church without all he has done. So many new temples have been built and the churchs numbers have grown so much. At the same time I am so happy for him to finally be with his sweet wife. I can't imagine how badly he has wanted to be with her and now to know that he with her for eternity is so amazing! How lucky are we to have the knowledge of eternal families and know we are loved by our prophet and our Heavenly Father. I know he will be sorely missed, but I am so grateful for everything he has done for us the past 13 years! What a wonderful legacy to leave behind. May we all remember his family in our thoughts and prayers in the weeks to come. WE LOVE YOU PRESIDENT HINCKLEY!!!

Mini Vacation

This weekend we went on a mini vacation to Cedar City with my parents, brother and sister for my dads work. He needed to take Nestle wristbands to the SUU basketball game, so we went with him and got a weekend paid for by Nestle. Those are the best vacations, the ones you don't have to pay for. I have been dreading the ride down with Madison because of her being so sick this week, but she did amazing!! We brought a movie and she played barbies with Kelsey, and colored in her coloring book. She didn't cry at all. Now the ride back might be a different story, but hopefully she'll sleep on the way home.

Influenza...

So Madison hasn't been getting any better this weekend, in fact she started to get worse. Finally on Monday morning we took her to the doctor and it turns out she has the Influenza flu. (Thats the one you get the shot for.) So here goes the -I'm a crappy mom for not getting my kid the shot- speech. I had never in my life got a shot for influenza, in fact I didn't even know it existed until I met Chris. His mom faithfully got the shot for the entire family and insisted that I should get one too. I thought it was bogus, and didn't get one the first two years. Then after I had Madison, she convinced me to get it. I did and was so sick that year, I thought it was a plot out to get me. So this year Chris got one at work, but I failed to get one and didn't even think about Madison. Bad mom, right! Well sure enough she gets influenza and I feel horrible!! Needless to say next year Madison will be first in line to get the shot, and yes, I will get one too.

Sick Again....

This is the attidude I am talking about!!!
You ever seen such an angry face in a 2 year old??

Poor Maddie!! This girl seems to catch every bug under the sun. I swear everytime we hear of anyone that is sick, little Madison gets it too. I guess I should start taking advice from Annie and sanitize her everytime we walk in the door. She has a bad cold and cough, and last night she was laying on my bed with me and was talking in her sleep. It was so sad to see her so helpless. You know she doesn't feel good when she is super grumpy. I went in to check on her last night and she said, "Get outta here. Leave my alone.." I am in big trouble when this girl is 16. I think she gets sick on purpose everytime she knows we are going to game night. I'm bummed I won't be there girls.. :( Hope you have a great time!!

Guitar Hero anyone????

So we are officially hooked on guitar hero. We got the game a little before Christmas, and haven't put it down since. We love to have friends over and play all night!! Chris and our friend Joe found Halloween wigs and decided they played much better when they were in costume. It was such a fun time. If anyone is ever interested in coming over to play too, let me know!!

Sledding fun!!!

We had a great day sledding!! It was a family birthday party for Dylan, Brady and Emily. I forgot how much fun sledding is. Even though it was cold and we had wet pants, we were having too much fun to care. Madison loved going on the sled with her cousins Jeremy and Jordan, and occasionally me and Chris. That was a great idea for the party. Thanks Erica and Jenn.

2007 in review

Well 2007 brought a lot of learning into our lives...
Jan- Madison had reaccuring ear infections and had tubes put in her ears on Jan. 19th.
March- Chris' little brother Nick leaves on his mission to Switzerland.
On the 25th Chris and I celebrated 3 years of marriage. Yeah!!!
April- We are approached by a housing developer to buy our property. We are so excited because we would be able to get a nice house with a huge down payment. Also a new nephew Jace Connor Larsen born on April 17th.
May- We went to Disneyland for a whole week with my family, and Madison has never been happier. I think that was the trigger to the princess phase we are going through.
Another new nephew Cannon James Tidwell born May 25th.
On the 31st, Madison turned 2 and thinks she is 16...oh boy we're in serious trouble.
June- We find our dream house in Riverton and close on it on June 30th.
July- On the 3rd we move in to our beautiful new home. We love it. But.... on the 6th, the developer on the Sandy house backs out. Thats a joke right?? Nope its for real. We are stuck with 2 houses. So the Sandy one goes up for sale by itself and we cross our fingers it sells fast.
Aug- Nothing is happening on the Sandy house, so we find a young couple to rent it. That helps a little. On the 11th I am in the emergency room with severe stomach pains. Turns out its gallbladder. So on the 24th I go in for surgery and have my gallbladder removed.
Sept- On the 6th I have a birthday and realize I am way to young to own 2 houses!! On the 14th a new niece is born, Olivia Rachel Banks.
Nov- We aren't getting any results out of selling the Sandy house, and our renters can't seem to pay their rent on time ever, so contemplate our options.
Dec-We bite the bullet and put our new home in Riverton up for sale...Its the hardest decision we have ever had to make, and we hate every second of it. We have a very spoiled Christmas thanks to our wonderful families, and are so grateful for them. Chris has a birthday on the 30th and he also feels to young to have 2 houses.
**So 2008 we hope for a change in our lives. We have learned a few to many of lifes lessons, and grown closer to each other because of them. We look forward to the sell of at least one house, and know what ever happens is meant to be, even if we don't understand why at the time. We are so grateful for the support and love we have been shown this past year, and can't repay our family and friends enough!! THANK YOU!!!
