After Curlers

Ok so everyone has been asking what the after look was. The straight on picture doesn't really show it,plus she still looks half asleep, but the second one, the back, was perfect. We had stake conference, and I had like 5 moms stop me before we sat down comment on it. She is all girl, and loved it. She kept telling me she wanted to see ther "puffy" hair in the mirror. Girls are so fun!

Girls!!!

So I have so many pictures when I was this age of me on Saturday night having my hair put in sponge curlers for church on Sunday. The other day I passed them at the store and I couldn't resist buying a pack or two. So tonight I put them in her hair, and you should have seen her face! Well I guess you can see her face because of the picture. She looked so cute, and she actually wanted to go to sleep so that she could see her pretty hair. I can't wait until I can put our pictures side-by-side with matching hair. I love all the fun things you can do with girls hair!

Guess Who??

So last night I played this game with my nephew Max. The first round I went easy on him so that he could win. He did of course. So the second round, I thought okay I can beat him because he already one once. So I tried. He beat me again! Okay third round. Everythings at stake. I honestly tried to beat the kid, but once again, he won!!! Do you know how embarrassing it is to lose to a 5 year old 3 times in a row?? I can honestly say if you are looking for a challenge, Max is your kid! WAY TO GO MAX!!!!

Here we go again...

So it seems that the only time I blog is when something negative happens. I swear that I am not doing this for sympathy, but it sure helps get out the frustrated feelings I have built up inside. So guess who is sick again??? Yep that's right folks, Madison!! I give up! I try so hard to make sure that I avoid people when they are sick, and even when we haven't been around other people, she still picks up something. I honestly wonder if I should just hibernate during the winter with her. So Tuesday night she woke up in the middle of the night crying that her right ear hurt. My first thought was great an ear infection. We gave her Motrin and put her back to bed. The next day(Wednesday) she was doing okay. Not great, but tolerable. That night I was at the church with my family and looked over at Madison to see that she had blood and puss running out her ear and dripping down her hair. So naturally I freak out. Have you ever seen blood come out a kids ear. Not a good thing at all for a mom to see in a child that is acting somewhat normal. So up to the insta-care we go...again. When we get there she is fevering and now has puss and blood coming out both ears. The doctor tells us that her tubes may have been acting as a dam for the infection, and so much pressure had built up that it pushed through and was draining infection. The concern was that she could have possibly had an eardrum burst. There was so much infection that the doctor couldn't see her eardrum, so we got a round of antibiotics and ear drops to try to calm the infection so we can get her back in to check the ear drum later. I guess now I know why I don't have any more kids. I can't keep the one I've got in shape and healthy. So patience is becoming a common topic around our house. We are learning it in leaps and bounds.

P.S. Linds. Forrest it was so good to see you in our office. You were the talk of the afternoon. Marisa couldn't get over how friendly you are. She said you must be a great friend. I agreed and told her she should meet the rest of my friends, because they are all like that! I am so lucky to have you guys around for support!! Thanks :)

We are Alive!!

Hello family and friends... It feels like forever since I have had 5 minutes to sit down at the computer and update our blog. So much has happened since our last post. Everything was finalized with our house, and we closed on it on Feb. 22nd. It was really stressful to have to move (again) but luckly we were not totally settled in our Riverton house. As hectic as that was Chris and I were still working full time and trying to pack at night. I don't recommend moving in 3 weeks with a 2 year old. We are slowly getting settled in with Chris' dad, and trying to find what we need amidst all the boxes. Its such a sucessful feeling to empty a box and throw it outside. Poor Madison was so confused to what was happening. Her and I were in the car last week heading home(Sandy) and here is how the conversation went:
Madison: " Uh mom, where we going?"
Me: "We are going home babe, to Grandpa Larry's house."
Madison: " What about our home?"
Me: " Grandpa Larry's is our new home."
Madison: "No, uh where is our other one home?"
Me: " oh, sweetie, we sold it to someone else. Now we live with Grandpa Larry."
Madison: terrified "Oh no, what about my dad??"
Me: hysterically laughing " Honey, daddy is at school. But he will live with us at Grandpa Larry's too."
Madison: terrified again "Where is my Koda?" (our dog)
Me: "Koda is at Grandpa Larry's too."
Madison: even more terrified " But mom, where are my toys??"
Me: "Madison, your toys are at Grandpa Larry's too."
Madison: "Oh, o.k. thats good."

Its funny to see whats important to kids at that age. Dad, Dog, and toys, in that order. Hopefully we will settle in soon, and I can get back to blogging more!

SOLD!!!!!

Yes, thats right folks. Our house in Riverton has sold! We, well I guess mainly me, are having mixed emotions about all this. It is the best thing that could have worked out for us financially, but emotionally I hate it. We originally listed our house the week before Christmas. We were working with this realtor, who in my opinion was the laziest idiot on the planet, and were not getting a whole lot of sucess. So last week we fired him and got a new guy to list our house. We signed papers with him on Thursday night, had a sign up Saturday, Monday had our first showing, and the people who saw it Monday made an offer and we accepted it on Tuesday. We were so relieved that our house sold in less than 1 week. The kicker of the story is that the people who bought our house have to be out of their house on Feb. 22nd, so therefore we also have to be out of our house on Feb. 22nd. Thats in 3 1/2 weeks. Anyways, we are also so sad to leave our perfect home, our neighbors, and our ward. It has been so nice to live in a young ward, and we are really going to miss all the friends we have made here. But again we are so glad to get rid of the stress that having 2 houses can cause. Hopefully we can adjust quickly to all the change, and we know it is all for the best. So I guess we take a deep breath and move on from here. I know we have learned a lot of lessons, and hope we never have to go through something like this again. Thanks so much for all the thoughts and prayers in our behalf. We truly have the best family and friends out there. Thanks again!

A tribute to a great man!!!

Tonight is a sad yet happy time for all. With the passing of the dear prophet, our hearts are heavy. He was such a sweet man full of charisma and love. I have grown so close to him as he has been in office serving the Lord, since he is one of the only prophets I remember. So many good things have come in his service, and I believe that the Lord was with him every step of the way. Where would we be in life and in the church without all he has done. So many new temples have been built and the churchs numbers have grown so much. At the same time I am so happy for him to finally be with his sweet wife. I can't imagine how badly he has wanted to be with her and now to know that he with her for eternity is so amazing! How lucky are we to have the knowledge of eternal families and know we are loved by our prophet and our Heavenly Father. I know he will be sorely missed, but I am so grateful for everything he has done for us the past 13 years! What a wonderful legacy to leave behind. May we all remember his family in our thoughts and prayers in the weeks to come. WE LOVE YOU PRESIDENT HINCKLEY!!!
