As much as I like to share fun things Madison says on my blog, the real purpose of telling the stories are more for my sake than anything. Its hard to remember anything, and this is the easiest way to jot them down. So if you are bored reading about my kid, my feelings are not hurt if you stop reading now. (But its a super cute story...)
The other day Maddie and I were talking about the baby in my belly, and she started asking the most interesting questions for a 3 year old to ask. Our conversation went like this:
Madison: Mom, when I was a baby, was I in your tummy?
Lindsey: Yeah sweetie you were, and now baby brother is in my tummy.
M: So whose tummy were you in when you were a baby?
L: Grandma Julie's tummy.
M: When you were in Grandma Julie's tummy, where was I?
L: You were in heaven.
M: With Heavenly Father?
L: Yeah, with Heavenly Father...
**By this point, I am thinking to myself, SERIOUSLY?? Is she really asking these intense questions?
M: Why was I in heaven?
L: Because you had to wait until Mommy was old enough to be a mommy so you could be in my tummy.
M: So where are my babies?
L: What babies?
M: The ones that are going to be in my tummy when I get big enough to be a mommy.
L: Well they are in heaven waiting for you to grow up.
M: With Heavenly Father too?
L: Yeah, with Heavenly Father.
M: Mom, that's so nice of Heavenly Father to babysit!
I was blown away. Blown away at how she was even able to grasp the concept of herself in the future, and the fact that she is thinking of being a mom herself. She is so nurturing, so it makes perfect sense for her to be a mom one day. I am so glad that I get to be her mom!
