So when I was pregnant with Maddie I really wanted to make her a rag quilt. Well seeing as I know nothing about sewing, I had my cousin help me. I thought I was doing so well until I showed it to her and she had to unpick the seams because they were so crooked...dang! So with this little guy I was determined to make him a rag quilt, but this time by myself. After some serious talking with my sister-in-law, Erica, I got all the measurements for the fabric and some good sewing tips and took the plunge! After a few little bumps in the road, or bumps in the sewing machine, I finished the quilt all by myself!
And ta-daaaa!!!
I used the sewing machine Chris bought me for Christmas, and I was so pleased with the finished product! It looks so good, as long as you don't look too close, and I am so happy that I did it all by myself. Who knew I could sew a little with some serious practice. Thanks for all the tips Erica!
**Quick baby update... I am still measuring bigger, but after the ultrasound, the doctor is not too concerned. He said we will continue to watch the growth of the baby and my belly, and evaluate as it gets closer. He did say that we would not go past the 6th of April though, so that's at least a light, a very dim light, at the end of the tunnel. I also had to have the RhoGAM shot today. I am A- and Chris is O+. I had it with Maddie too, and when she was born they tested her and she is also O+. So I had another shot then. They gave it to me today and then after this little guy is born they will test his blood and then I will possibly get another shot after the birth. Other than that all is well, and we are getting more and more excited everyday for this sweet baby boy to join our family!

Linds the quilt is amazing!! Way to go! What are those RhoGAM shots for... you good?! I hope you are able to come tonight! Love ya
Cute quilt - you did a wonderful job! I'm glad the pregnancy is going so well - I'm especially glad you have a light at the end of the tunnel - nice to know when you'll have that baby in your arms for sure!
So cute! Maybe you could teach me? I can't wait for your little boy to get here so I can hold him! Would you tell him to hurry up?
The quilt is cute!
I too am a RhoGAM taker. I am O-, Nate A+ and sure enough one of the twins was + and so was Aidan (all my kids are O).
Very cute quilt. I need some serious lessons if I ever want to make something like that! I have the Rh factor too. It sucks. After Hayden I had to have the shot again too but lucky for me, Teagan's blood was the same as mine!
Your quilt turned out so darling!! That green fabric is my favorite of all time just because of the fuzziness of it all, and the other fabrics you picked go with it perfectly! Merrygoat is going to love it :o)
NICE WORK! I am serioulsy impressed. I got a sewing machine for Christmas about 4 years ago and it's still sitting in the box...one day I'll learn.
I am seriously impressed, that is darling!
Linds, you totally inspire me! I've been sewing lately too and it's so fun to make blankets for the babes!
That quilt is adorable! Now you're one step closer to being ready for him to come. You and Erica need to tell me these insider "tips" so I can attempt one sometime.
