Any advice???

First a huge thanks to everyone who congratulated us on the announcement of our pregnancy! We seriously have the best family and friends, and are so happy to be able to share our excitement with you!

Next, Chris and I are leaving this week to go on vacation with a couple that we are good friends with. I am so nervous! I haven't ever left Madison over night. I keep thinking about all the things that could go wrong, and I think I freak myself out more. I know she'll have a great time at my moms house, and she is super excited to have a sleepover with Kelsey, but I still stress about the whole trip. So any suggestions on what I can do to make myself not worry so much?

Thanks for all your input!

DON'T STRESS!! You know I'll take good care of her and spoil her more than you could ever imagine. I remember the anxiety of leaving you kids but when I got home I wondered why I didn't enjoy my alone time with my husband more. Have a great time. You deserve it and everything will be fine!
Love, Mom

Lindsey just don't even think about it, because everytime I do I start freaking out about leaving Gavin too!! I feel so bad leaving him, but I just think about the fun we will have!! I have never left Gavin overnight since he has been born!! My parents and Joe's parents are excited about watching Gavin for the weekend, so that makes me feel a little bit better, plus I know he will have a fun time and get spoiled at the same time!! I just won't even think about it until I leave him and save all my crying on the way to the airport!! I am excited!! :)

Linds, no worries! I left my two kids for 13 days, how sad is that?! I don't know for Maddie if it would make it better or worse, but I made sure I called and talked to Noah every night and kept reminding him I was bringing home a big surprise just for him. Hope you have a great time and enjoy yourself!

All I can say is good luck to you. We haven't done it yet but I will say there have been times that I was a lot more willing than Brian.

I'm excited that you guys get to go on a kids-free vacation! How fun! You know Maddie's going to have a great time with your family, so I wouldn't worry one bit about it. Just focus on having a fun vacation!!

Hey lady! So I know I don't have kids, but I get really good ideas from all the 'real' parents (by that I mean I am not a real parent yet). ANYWAY my friend when she leaves on trips she packs a present for each day that they are gone. So the first day is a small present then it gets bigger and bigger until the biggest present is you coming home. She says that a therapist told her to do it because it helps the child focus on the present and getting excited for you to come, instead of being consumed in sadness. And don't worry, nothing crazy big but jsut fun little presents.

By the way... Where are you going?!! Have so much fun!! You deserve it!

Live it up while you are gone, you have never left her and she is 3! You and Chris definitely deserve some time away. Especially before the second one comes! Have Chris give you a blessing, that always helps me.

Just go and have fun! You will be back in no time. She will have so much fun with your family! It will make her more independent (like she needs it!)
